Hearts they have of shining gold,

Buttercups have honeyed hearts,
bees they love the clover,
but I love the daisies’ dance
all the meadow over.

Blow, O blow, you happy winds,
singing summer’s praises,
up the field and down the field
a-dancing with the daisies.

L’herbe luit d’étoiles
qui rayonnent
d’un éclat blanc et doré.

Les boutons-d’or offrent des cœurs de miel,
mais les abeilles aiment les trèfles,
alors que moi, je préfère danser
avec les marguerites dans la prairie.
